METALLICA's ULRICH Is Looking Forward To Returning To The Studio In January
March 12, 2004METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich has told Launch Radio Networks that the band's pre-show ritual every night on their current tour is actually helping them come up with ideas for the next METALLICA album.
"You know when you open with songs like 'Blackened' and 'Fight Fire...' and so on, you gotta kind of have your chops together by the time you get up onstage," he said. "So by the time we get up onstage, we're actually about twenty, thirty minutes in playing, 'cause we get together in this jam room we have. And we have a guy who records those jams. So there's some pretty crazy stuff that comes up every night, and I definitely look forward to shifting through some of that stuff when we get back to the studio in January."
METALLICA have added more dates to their "Madly In Anger With The World" tour, with the third leg of the North American trek now extending into September and October. GODSMACK are opening the first two legs of the tour, but will not be appearing on the third leg. A new warm-up act is yet to be announced.
